PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Sohail Afridi on Tuesday said his administration has removed incompetent and corrupt officials from their posts as part of a wider accountability drive to reform the provincial system.
Addressing a gathering, the chief minister stated that those who previously exploited their positions have been sidelined. He noted that the move has closed the doors on illicit practices that once defined the administrative landscape.

Resistance to Reform
Mr. Afridi framed his mission as a choice between changing the status quo or being changed by it. He maintained that he holds no personal fear regarding his removal from office, citing a lack of interest in personal gain or power.
“I have no greed for the office, the chair, or money,” he said, adding that neither external power nor global wealth could influence his decision-making during the current CM Sohail Afridi accountability drive.

Targeting ‘Crocodiles’
The chief minister attributed the current political outcry to his crackdown on “big and small crocodiles.” He argued that the protest from opposition quarters is a direct result of his government blocking avenues for corruption.
“When I hold them accountable, they scream. They have started screaming because I have shut the gates to their corruption,” the CM remarked.
