PESHAWAR – Islamabad’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) immigration unit has dismantled a human trafficking ring involved in Pakistani women trafficking to China under false pretenses of marriage.
Authorities arrested three suspects at Islamabad International Airport while they were boarding flight CZ6034 to China with a young Pakistani woman.
Exposes Human Trafficking Network
According to the Federal Investigation Agency spokesperson, the arrested traffickers were identified as Shougui , Abdul Rehman, and Nuhammad Nauman. Investigators revealed that the group targeted vulnerable women from impoverished backgrounds across Pakistan, deceiving them with promises of marriage and employment.
The FIA’s preliminary investigation found that the traffickers arranged fraudulent marriages between Pakistani women and Chinese men, operating under an organized network. Multiple female accomplices were also involved in recruiting women for Pakistani women trafficking to China.
Money Trail and Exploitation
Authorities discovered that abdul rehman and muhammad nauman worked with a Chinese agent named paul, who secured Chinese clients willing to pay large sums for Pakistani brides. The traffickers would identify financially struggling women and convince their families to accept these marriages, further fueling Pakistani women trafficking to China.
In this specific case, the traffickers struck a deal with the victim’s mother for one million rupees (3,571 us dollars). They made an initial payment of 150,000 rupees (536 us dollars) while coercing the victim into signing a document acknowledging a fraudulent debt of one million rupees (3,571 us dollars).
The FIA transferred the arrested traffickers to islamabad’s anti-human trafficking unit for further investigation and legal proceedings. Officials have launched efforts to identify other victims and dismantle the entire network behind Pakistani women trafficking to China.
Last year, the Associates Press reported that more than 600 women have been sold in China on the pretext of marriages.
