Interfaith Iftar dinner marks 11 years of global peace building efforts

PESHAWAR — The Muslim Council of Elders (MCE) Pakistan hosted a Interfaith Iftar dinner in Islamabad, bringing together faith leaders and representatives from diverse communities.

The event celebrated 11 years of global peace building efforts and the fight against Islamophobia, stressing the vital role of interfaith dialogue and cooperation in fostering harmony.

“As a faith leader, I am profoundly grateful to MCE for organizing this momentous Interfaith Iftar dinner. I extend my heartfelt appreciation to the MCE team for their unwavering dedication to promoting interfaith harmony and fostering mutual respect,” Sarpanch Pandit Haroon Sarab Diyal, Religious Scholar Hinduism andChairman All Pakistan Hindu Rights Movement, said.

A special tribute was given to MCE President Ahmed Mohamed Ahmed El-Tayeb for expanding the organization’s efforts to Pakistan, engaging diverse faith leaders, and bridging gaps between global communities. The Interfaith Iftar dinner highlights the shared values among religious traditions, particularly the importance of fasting in spiritual growth and communal bonding. From Ramazan in Islam to Navratri in Hinduism, Lent in Christianity, and Yom Kippur in Judaism, fasting reflects a universal pursuit of spiritual renewal.

Notable attendees, including Professor Dr. Qibla Ayaz, Dr. Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Professor Dr. Kalyan Singh, Ranjeet Singh, Qari Roohullah Madani, Bishop Kamran Nadim, Dr. Israr Madani, and El Said Khattab, were recognized for their contributions to interfaith dialogue and peace efforts.

The gathering demonstrated the transformative power of shared meals, stories, and experiences in dismantling barriers and fostering appreciation for diverse traditions. By promoting interfaith dialogue and cooperation, the Interfaith Iftar dinner reinforced the importance of cultivating deeper understanding and respect among different faith communities.
