PESHAWAR – A shocking discovery of structural negligence has sparked public outrage in the Malakand region. Local residents have demanded immediate accountability after discovering that builders were using large stones entirely without cement in an active construction project in Dargai.
Red-Handed Discovery by Forestry Advisor
The structural scam came to light during an official field visit by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor on Forestry, Peer Musawwir. During his inspection, the advisor pointed out the highly substandard materials and poor construction methods being used on-site.
Consequently, Peer Musawwir directed the relevant administrative authorities to immediately remove the faulty structures and substandard materials. He further warned that the department would initiate formal disciplinary actions against the individuals responsible if they failed to comply.
Citizens Question Government Inaction
Despite the official warnings, local citizens and civic bodies have raised serious questions regarding the administration’s slow response. Community members argue that because the authorities caught the culprits red-handed on-site, the government should have arrested them or suspended the contract immediately.
Undoubtedly, citizens are growing tired of unchecked structural malpractice. Local community groups have called for practical, uncompromising actions against any contractor who compromises on construction standards, emphasizing that the state must act firmly to prevent the continuous waste of public funds.
