PESHAWAR- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has welcomed the presidential announcement concerning governor’s rule and an emergency in the province, warning that anyone who takes the law into their own hands will be dealt with firmly.
In a video statement posted on social media, Kundi said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa welcomed the presidential announcement in the hope that it would usher in peace, development and prosperity.
The governor said the people of the province had decided they could no longer live with what he called Fitna al-Khawarij. He said residents would work with state institutions to confront terrorists.
Kundi added that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa wanted brotherly relations with the federal government and other provinces so that they could benefit from one another’s experiences.
He said the province’s people were peaceful, did not support terrorists and did not engage in negative actions. He concluded by warning that anyone who violated the law would face a firm response under the law.
