PESHAWAR: The Department of Oral Biology at the Rehman College of Dentistry (RCD) organised a 3D model competition for first professional Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) students on Wednesday.
The event was designed to encourage academic creativity and scientific understanding among the participants.
According to the organisers, a total of 15 groups participated in the contest. The students presented detailed 3D models before an esteemed panel of judges and faculty members from the Department of Oral Biology.

Scientific Creativity
Dr. Jamal Nasir from Sardar Begum Dental College and Dr. Usama Siddiqui from RCD served as judges for the competition. Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Tariq Ali Khan, the Head of the Department of Periodontology, attended the event as the guest of honour.
The judges assessed the models based on their technical accuracy and the presentation skills of the students. Principal Prof. Dr. Ghulam Rasool, along with various faculty members, attended the exhibition and appreciated the students for their innovative approach to oral biology.

Recognition of Performance
The college administration awarded certificates, prizes, and cash awards to the winning teams in recognition of their outstanding performances. The organisers noted that such competitions are essential for fostering a deeper interest in dental sciences.
Furthermore, the faculty emphasized that hands-on projects help students translate theoretical knowledge into practical visuals. The event concluded with a formal ceremony where the participants were lauded for their enthusiasm and academic dedication.
