PESHAWAR — The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially announced the launch of its completely redesigned official website, marking a major milestone in the central bank’s ongoing digital transformation agenda.
The newly overhauled platform will go live on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, and will be accessible to all users at the bank’s existing web address: www.sbp.org.pk.
According to the SBP, the modern digital platform aims to provide a faster, more intuitive, and user-friendly experience for a diverse range of stakeholders, including citizens, businesses, financial institutions, researchers, and journalists. The upgrade reflects the central bank’s commitment to transparency, innovation, and enhanced stakeholder engagement.
Key Features of the New SBP Website
The central bank developed the new portal following extensive research and stakeholder consultation to ensure it meets modern digital standards. Key upgrades include:
- State Bank of Pakistan Launches Newly Redesigned Official Website: A simplified user interface allows visitors to browse the site effortlessly. Advanced search mechanics and robust filtering options make it faster to locate critical data, policy circulars, banking regulations, publications, and press releases.
- Universal Device Compatibility: The website features a fully responsive design, ensuring a seamless and uninterrupted browsing experience across desktops, smartphones, and tablets.
- Bilingual Interface: To promote broader public accessibility, users can switch seamlessly between English and Urdu at any stage of their browsing experience.
- Accessibility for Specially-Abled Users: The platform complies with international Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), making financial information more accessible to individuals with special needs.
- Streamlined Information Architecture: The SBP has reorganized its core functional areas—such as monetary policy, financial market data, and banking regulations—into a more logical, easy-to-navigate structure.
Driving Financial Inclusion and Literacy
The SBP expects the new digital hub to significantly strengthen its public communication capabilities. By offering easier access to authentic financial data and digital tools, the website will actively promote financial literacy and broader financial inclusion across Pakistan. This, in turn, will empower stakeholders to make well-informed economic decisions.
Transition Period for Users
To help users adjust to the new layout, the State Bank is providing a temporary transition window. While the new website organizes institutional data and resources more efficiently, visitors who prefer the previous layout can still access the old version.
The central bank has placed a dedicated link to the legacy site on the new homepage, which will remain active until July 15, 2026.
