PESHAWAR – The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) has unveiled a comprehensive strategic plan to revolutionize food quality. This initiative targets public health safety through nine major interventionist measures.
As a result, the Food Department is implementing fundamental changes to provide direct relief and pure nutrition to citizens.

Under the new directive, the KP government is establishing a rigorous monitoring system. This system tracks the milk and meat supply chains. Specifically, this “traceability” initiative aims to eliminate contamination at the source. Moreover, the administration is introducing a mandatory “Open Kitchen Policy” for restaurants. This will enhance transparency and hygiene standards within the hospitality sector.
In addition, the KP government is deploying mobile food testing laboratories to empower the public. These units allow citizens to verify food quality on the spot. Additionally, all food outlets will now undergo a safety rating process. This helps consumers make informed choices.
