KP Announces Recruitment of 2,439 Healthcare Professional

PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department has launched a large-scale recruitment drive to fill 2,439 clinical positions across the province. This initiative aims to strengthen the regional healthcare system by hiring medical officers, dental surgeons, and nurses.

Provincial Health Minister Khalique-ur-Rehman stated that the government remains committed to making healthcare services more effective. Consequently, the department has formally invited applications to activate primary and secondary health centers.

Breakdown of Vacancies and Eligibility

The recruitment drive focuses on three primary categories of healthcare providers. Specifically, the department seeks to hire:

  • Medical Officers: 1,425 positions available.
  • Nurses: 764 positions available.
  • Dental Surgeons: 250 positions available.

These appointments will operate on a one-year contract basis. However, the government may extend these contracts based on individual performance. Furthermore, candidates must possess recognized educational qualifications and valid registration with the PMDC or PNC. Minister Khalique-ur-Rehman emphasized that the recruitment process will remain completely transparent and merit-based. He noted that this campaign is a vital step toward addressing the shortage of doctors and staff in the province. Therefore, officials will conduct all hiring in strict accordance with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Department rules.

Interested candidates must submit their applications and required documents to their respective Divisional Commissioner offices. Following the initial screening, the department will invite only shortlisted candidates for interviews. Meanwhile, the final deadline for application submission is April 8, 2026.

According to the official schedule, authorities will conduct final interviews for shortlisted candidates on April 18, 2026. Afterward, the compiled merit list will remain effective for one year. Minister Khalique-ur-Rehman reaffirmed that the ultimate goal is to ensure quality medical facilities for every citizen. As a result, this influx of professional staff will directly support the government’s long-term health infrastructure goals.
