Women University Swabi and Aga Khan University Sign MoU to Advance Public Health Research

The Department of Public Health at Women University Swabi (WUS) has officially partnered with Aga Khan University (AKU) through a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

This collaboration aims to elevate academic standards and research mentorship within the field of Public Health by providing WUS students with direct access to AKU’s world-class faculty.

Under this new agreement, senior faculty members from AKU will provide academic supervision for WUS students, offering them the practical exposure and research guidance necessary to tackle modern healthcare challenges.

Strategic Leadership for Academic Excellence

The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen, Vice Chancellor of Women University Swabi, and Dr. Nadeem Ullah Khan, Professor and Chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Aga Khan University.

“This collaboration is a significant step toward strengthening public health education at WUS. By connecting our students with experienced mentors from AKU, we are equipping them with the ethical grounding and skills required to address emerging health issues,” stated Dr. Ghazala Yasmeen.

Key Attendees

The signing ceremony brought together senior representatives from both institutions. Dr Omme Kalsoom, Head of the Department of Biochemistry at Women University Swabi, attended the event. Dr Uzma Rahim, Assistant Professor and Director Research at Aga Khan University, was also present. Mr Hussain Ahmad, Director Finance at Aga Khan University, represented the finance leadership.
