The district administration of Bannu has enforced Section 144 in several areas today, January 30, 2026, imposing strict restrictions on public movement and vehicular traffic to maintain law and order.

Security Measures and Restricted Areas

According to Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Fahim Khan, the decision was taken as a precautionary measure in anticipation of the movement of a military convoy. The primary objective is to ensure the safety of citizens and maintain stability in the region following recent security developments.

The movement ban is strictly applicable in the following localities:

  • Village Akbar Ali Khan
  • Jhando Khel
  • Sada Khel
  • Surrounding adjacent areas

The restrictions came into effect at 6:00 AM and will remain in place until 6:00 PM this evening. Authorities have issued a stern warning that any individual or vehicle found violating these orders will face immediate legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Recent Counter-Terrorism Operation

This administrative action follows a major joint security operation conducted just one day prior. On January 29, Pakistan security forces, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), and local police carried out a day-long action in the Domel police station area, specifically in the locality of Akbar Ali Khan village.

During that operation:

  • Five militants were killed and seven others were injured.
  • The operation began at 5:00 AM and involved intensive search efforts.
  • Security forces are currently hunting for suspects who managed to escape during the exchange, with search operations continuing in nearby areas.
