Imran Khan’s Immediate Release Unlikely Despite Bail in Multiple Cases

PESHAWAR – Shafiullah Jan, the Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for Information, launched a blistering critique against the federal and Punjab governments on Thursday, accusing them of systematically misleading the nation regarding the health of PTI founder Imran Khan.

The Hospital Controversy

In a official statement, Jan claimed that the federal government secretly moved Imran Khan to PIMS Hospital while publically maintaining a facade of normalcy. He characterized the recent admissions by Federal Minister Attaullah Tarar as a self-incriminating “charge sheet” that exposes months of official lies.

“The federal government continues to trample on the Constitution,” Shafiullah Jan stated. “They shifted the founding chairman to a hospital but deliberately kept his family and legal team in the dark. This is not just negligence; it is a criminal act.”

Denied Access and Human Rights

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administration alleged a persistent denial of access to Imran Khan’s personal physician, labeling it a blatant violation of fundamental human rights. Despite clear court orders mandating regular meetings, Jan asserted that the jail administration and federal authorities have consistently ignored judicial directives.

Key Allegations from the Press Release:

  • Medical Secrecy: Authorities moved Khan to PIMS Hospital without informing his legal council or family.
  • Constitutional Violations: The government is allegedly ignoring specific court orders regarding visitation rights.
  • Political Revenge: Jan accused the “corrupt clique” in power of being blinded by a vendetta against the former Prime Minister.

Showdown at Adiala Jail

The tension escalated on Thursday when KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi traveled to Adiala Jail to meet Imran Khan but faced an immediate refusal from authorities. Shafiullah Jan described the scene as a “curfew-like situation,” fueled by the federal government’s fear of Khan’s enduring popularity.

In a defiant move, Jan announced that Chief Minister Afridi, alongside various MNAs, MPAs, and Senators, will maintain a peaceful sit-in outside Adiala Jail. They vow to remain on-site until the government grants Khan’s personal physician access to the PTI leader.

Punjab Health Sector Under Fire

Shafiullah Jan also pivoted his critique toward the Punjab provincial government, claiming the regional health sector sits on the “brink of collapse.” He referenced a report from the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team as evidence of administrative failure, suggesting that the leadership in Lahore focuses more on political persecution than public welfare.

As the standoff continues, the PTI leadership warns of a “tough course of action” if the federal government refuses to restore transparency regarding Imran Khan’s health.
