KP Seals Offices of Illegal Housing Societies in Massive Province-Wide Crackdown

The Land Use and Building Control Authority has launched a major crackdown on illegal housing projects in Peshawar’s West Zone. Using heavy machinery, its teams demolished unauthorized buildings and sealed several unapproved offices. The operation aims to stop unplanned expansion and protect citizens from property fraud.

Officials said many housing societies in the area had been selling plots without approval or documentation. These developers ignored building rules and violated land-use regulations. To counter this, the authority has started a coordinated effort with local inspectors to monitor and regulate all ongoing construction.

The authority has already completed lists of unapproved housing projects. These lists will guide future operations planned across other zones of the city. Teams have begun marking illegal structures for demolition. They warned developers that no leniency will be shown to those breaking the law.

Officials added that urban growth in Peshawar must follow proper planning laws. Without them, the city risks overcrowding, pollution, and unsafe construction. They urged investors and homebuyers to check the legal status of any housing project through the authority’s official channels before investing money.

Urban planners welcomed the move, calling it a much-needed step for transparency in the real estate market. They said unregulated development had already burdened the city’s roads, sewage systems, and water supply. This new campaign, they added, shows the government’s growing resolve to manage land use responsibly.

With stricter enforcement, authorities hope to promote safe and sustainable urban development. The West Zone operation marks the beginning of broader reforms to protect both citizens and the environment.
