Peshawar (News Reporter) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government (KP) has decided on the division of Swat district, which will increase the total number of districts in the province from 34 to 36.
Following the Chief Minister’s directive, the Revenue Department has issued an urgent notice to the Commissioner Malakand and Deputy Commissioner Swat. According to the notice, Swat will be divided into two parts:
- New district: Upper Swat
- Existing district: Lower Swat
The Revenue Department has directed that a detailed report on the division of Swat district be submitted within three days. Officials say that the district’s division will improve administrative efficiency and ensure that services reach the public directly at their doorstep.
Sources added that the move aims to strengthen governance and provide better facilities to the residents of Swat.
