PESHAWAR – South Waziristan once again became the frontline in the fight against terrorism as Pakistan’s security forces eliminated 11 India-backed militants in a high-stakes intelligence-based operation in the Sararogha area.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (Military Media Wing), the operation was launched on confirmed intelligence, targeting a key militant hideout. The forces struck with precision, killing 11 militants and injuring seven others in a heavy exchange of fire.

Two soldiers, including Major Syed Moeez Abbas Shah, 37, from Chakwal, and Lance Naik Jibraan Ullah, 27, from Bannu, embraced martyrdom. Major Moeez, who was leading the operation, had earned recognition for his courage and successful missions against militants in earlier operations across South Waziristan.
ISPR confirmed that the militants were actively operating under Indian sponsorship. “The operation has dismantled a dangerous cell involved in cross-border terrorism,” the statement said.

This marks yet another decisive action by Pakistan’s military in South Waziristan, a region that has remained under the spotlight due to repeated foreign-sponsored militant activity.
Following the operation, a sweeping clearance mission has begun to ensure no remnants of the network remain. Security officials reaffirmed their commitment to uprooting terrorism, particularly networks fueled by foreign involvement.
“The blood of our brave soldiers, like Major Moeez and Lance Naik Jibraan, strengthens our resolve,” ISPR said, noting that South Waziristan will not be allowed to serve as a launchpad for hostile agendas.
