The Iran-Israel war intensified overnight as Iranian missile strikes killed at least 10 people and injured o 100 others in central and northern Israel, BBC reported.

Israel responded with airstrikes on Iran, escalating a conflict now in its third day. Israeli police reported six deaths in Beit Yam, near Tel Aviv, including a 10-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl, during two phases of missile attacks. Seven people remain missing, with rescue teams searching debris. In Tamra, a northern Arab city, four women from one family were killed, local hospitals confirmed.

Israeli emergency services reported over 100 injuries across the affected areas. Israeli President Isaac Herzog, in a post on the social media platform X, described the Iran-Israel war losses as “deeply tragic.” He noted the deaths included Jewish and Arab Israelis, new immigrants, women, elderly, and men, expressing condolences and prayers for the injured and missing.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had previously warned of “difficult days” due to Israel’s ongoing military campaign, stated that Iran’s nuclear program has reached a “point of no return,” necessitating airstrikes.

Israel’s military confirmed strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, including Tehran’s Shahr-e An oil depot, as verified by Iran’s Oil Ministry. Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian warned that continued Israeli strikes would prompt “more severe” retaliation. Iranian officials maintain their nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, a claim Israel has consistently disputed.

The Iran-Israel war has drawn criticism within Israel, where some analysts and opposition figures describe it as a “war of choice” and advocate for diplomatic solutions to address Iran’s nuclear ambitions. The Iran-Israel war has also impacted international diplomacy.

U.S. President Donald Trump urged Iran to accept an unspecified deal, referencing his 2018 decision to withdraw from the 2015 Iran nuclear agreement, which Iran was complying with at the time.

A scheduled round of U.S.-Iran nuclear talks was canceled Sunday, with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stating that Israel’s “attacks” preclude negotiations.Israeli officials indicated their military operations, described as an “unprecedented campaign,” may continue for weeks, though specific objectives remain undisclosed.

The ongoing Iran-Israel war has raised concerns among global observers about the potential for a wider regional conflict.

This is a developing story. Updates will follow as new information emerges.
