KP Government Launches Ehsaas Youth Internship Program to Empower Young People

PESHAWAR – To empower and provide job opportunities for young people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the provincial government has launched the Ehsaas Youth Internship Program along with the Ehsaas Youth Program.

At a formal ceremony held at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar, Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur inaugurated these initiatives, which aim to support the youth through internships and business loans.

The Ehsaas Youth Internship Program will provide annual internship opportunities to 400 young participants, each lasting three months with a monthly stipend of PKR 25,000. Over three years, the program will benefit 1,200 students up to the age of 29 who hold a Higher Education Commission (HEC)-recognized degree equivalent to 16 years of education. Upon completing their internships, participants will be connected with job opportunities across both public and private sectors, helping them gain valuable work experience.In addition to the internship initiative, the government introduced the Ehsaas Youth Program, a three-year project costing PKR 3 billion, aimed at offering financial support to young entrepreneurs.

Through partnerships with the Bank of Khyber and Akhuwat Microfinance, this program provides interest-free loans to youth-led businesses. Under this program, clusters of three to five young individuals can access loans of PKR 1 million to PKR 5 million, while smaller loans between PKR 100,000 and PKR 500,000 are available for individual applicants.

These programs aim to uplift the youth and reduce unemployment across the province.The Ehsaas Youth Internship Program is structured to offer both professional development and economic empowerment, underscoring the KP government’s commitment to supporting the aspirations and potential of its young people.
