Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has officially launched the E-Fines Portal to enhance transparency and efficiency in collecting fines, taxes, and other revenues across the province. The initiative is part of the Digital Revenue platform, aims to simplify public service delivery, eliminate fraud, and ensure funds are directly deposited into the government treasury.

Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur inaugurated the portal at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in a ceremony attended by provincial cabinet members, senior government officials, and representatives from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board (KPITB).

During the event, district commissioners and divisional commissioners participated via video link, discussing the expected impact and functionality of the new system. Initially launched in Peshawar, the E-Fines Portal will be managed by various departments under district administration, starting with fine collections before expanding to other tax and revenue processes.

One of the key features of the portal is its ability to operate offline, ensuring continuous access and functionality even in areas with limited internet connectivity.

The platform integrates QR codes to verify collections and payments, allowing citizens to track and confirm that any fines were legally processed and paid directly into the government’s account. This transparency mechanism reduces the risk of fraud, duplication, and administrative errors.

Chief Minister Gandapur highlighted the benefits of the E-Fines Portal for citizens, stressing that it will simplify the payment process and improve institutional efficiency. He noted that this portal marks a significant milestone in KP’s digital governance efforts, with the provincial government focused on digitalizing public service delivery across all sectors.

Gandapur urged departments to use the platform effectively and uphold their responsibilities, ensuring the public benefits from a more transparent and efficient system.

The Chief Minister reiterated that the KP government remains committed to e-governance and that the E-Fines Portal reflects the province’s dedication to building a digitalized, transparent public service framework accessible to all citizens.
