PESHAWAR – The University of Peshawar has taken another step to address its ongoing financial crisis. The university administration has ordered all official vehicles to be immediately surrendered to the University Transport Pool. The Additional Registrar issued a formal office order outlining the details of this decision.
The university administration took this step to ensure better utilization of transport resources and to reduce operational costs. The decision follows the recommendations of the Senate’s 138th session and the Deans Committee. Responsible management of financial resources is currently the university’s top priority.

Vice Chancellor Leads by Example
The Vice Chancellor has taken a personal step in support of this decision. He ordered a monthly deduction of Rs. 20,000 from his own official vehicle’s POL (petroleum, oil, and lubricants) expenses. This move sends a clear message of financial discipline from the university’s leadership.
Departments Covered Under the Decision
The office order applies across all relevant departments and offices. Vehicles belonging to Deans’ offices, teaching departments, institutes, centres, colleges, and schools will all be surrendered to the transport pool. Principals, Deans, and heads of all departments have been directed to ensure immediate compliance.
