Tragedy has struck the Mandani area of Charsadda as local police launch investigations into two separate, violent incidents. The community is reeling from the torture and murder of a five-year-old boy and the fatal shooting of a local man following a dispute. These back-to-back crimes have triggered widespread grief and urgent calls for justice throughout the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region.
Murder of Mohammad Zakria
The first incident involves the brutal murder of five-year-old Mohammad Zakria, son of Mohammad Usman. A resident of Sabandi, Mandani, Zakria went missing after leaving his home earlier in the day. Despite an intensive search effort assisted by announcements from local mosque loudspeakers, the child’s body was tragically discovered in nearby open fields following Friday prayers.
According to the Mandani police station officials, initial findings suggest the young victim was subjected to severe torture and hanged before his body was dumped. A formal case has been registered against unidentified suspects following a report lodged by the victim’s uncle, Samiullah. Police have shifted the body for legal formalities and a post-mortem as they continue to hunt for the perpetrators of this heinous act.
Fatal Shooting of Suleman
In a separate violent event in Mandani, a man identified as Suleman was shot dead in a targeted firing incident. Suleman, the son of Abdul Saeed and a resident of Pandi Kallay Shakoor, was reportedly caught in a lethal dispute involving a rival party. The suspects had allegedly opened fire outside his residence the previous night to intimidate him, accusing him of providing shelter to their opponents.
The situation turned fatal when Suleman, accompanied by his relative Kausar, attempted to approach the suspects to pacify the situation. Upon seeing him, the accused—identified as Zardan, Ali Qasim, Mohammad Wali, and Mohammad Qasim—allegedly opened fire, killing Suleman on the spot. While Suleman sustained critical injuries and died, his companions remained unharmed during the attack.
Charsadda police have registered a formal FIR against the nominated individuals on the complaint of Samiullah. As tensions remain high in the district, authorities are working to finalize legal formalities and conduct raids to apprehend the named suspects. Further investigation into the motive and the suspects’ whereabouts is currently under way.
