The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department (HED) has started collecting data to rank all public and private universities in the province. Specifically, the department issued a formal letter to Vice-Chancellors, Rectors, and Directors of Degree Awarding Institutions (DAIs).

To assess these institutions fairly, a specialized committee developed a comprehensive framework based on 12 distinct indicators. Consequently, the HED created a data collection proforma to gather specific information from each campus. These indicators will evaluate various aspects of academic and administrative performance.
Furthermore, the department assured institutions that it will handle all provided data with strict confidentiality. The gathered information will serve only for ranking purposes and internal performance reviews.

Deadlines and Data Submission
The HED directed all universities to submit their completed data by Monday, February 16, 2026. According to the department, timely submission is essential for a fair and comprehensive evaluation. To assist with this process, the HED already shared detailed templates and guidelines with the institutions.
Moreover, the Quality Enhancement Cells (QEC) or focal persons of each university can contact the HED for any necessary clarifications. This structured approach ensures that every institution understands the requirements before the final deadline.
