PESHAWAR — Peshawar Traffic Police has intensified its operations across the city, addressing illegal encroachments and unauthorized number plates, while extending support to the newly elected cabinet of the Peshawar Press Club.

Chief Traffic Officer Saud Khan congratulated the newly elected President M. Riaz, General Secretary Tayyab Usman, and other members of the Press Club leadership, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Peshawar Traffic Police and the media in serving the community.

He assured the cabinet of his full support. Meanwhile, Peshawar Traffic Police fined 452 individuals for using fancy number plates following an awareness campaign. Educational teams informed citizens about the illegality of such plates, distributing pamphlets to encourage compliance. “We will ensure the implementation of higher authorities’ directives and take strict action against violations,” said Khan, reiterating the importance of using government-issued plates.

In addition to the crackdown on number plates, Peshawar Traffic Police arrested 58 individuals during operations targeting encroachments in areas like Custom Chowk, Karkhano Market, and Bacha Khan Chowk.

Despite earlier warnings to voluntarily remove encroachments, the directives were ignored, prompting swift action. Khan emphasized that daily operations would continue to restore traffic flow and enforce the law.

Through these measures, Peshawar Traffic Police aims to ensure public safety, improve traffic management, and uphold the city’s regulatory framework.
