Alkhidmat Foundation inagurates Women Vocational Center in Kalash

PESHAWAR – The Alkhidmat Foundation has inaugurated a Women Vocational Center in Kalash Valley, aiming to empower local women through skill development and economic stability.

The center was officially launched during a three-day visit to Chitral by Alkhidmat Foundation Secretary-General Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Khalid Waqas, and Director of Education Ahmed Jabran Baloch.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Bumburet, Kalash Valley, was attended by Jamaat-e-Islami Lower Chitral Emir Wajihuddin, KP Education Manager Waheedullah, and Alkhidmat Foundation’s Lower Chitral President Abdul Haq.

Speaking at the event, Jafri highlighted the significance of the Women Vocational Center in Kalash Valley, describing it as a step toward addressing the socio-economic challenges faced by women in the region. He emphasized that the center aims to promote women’s welfare, enhance their skills, and contribute to their economic independence.

The Kalash community’s rich cultural heritage was acknowledged by Alkhidmat leaders, who also lauded the craftsmanship and dedication of the local women participating in the center’s programs. Jafri stated that the vocational center is equipped to offer training in sewing, embroidery, and other practical skills, enabling women to sustain their traditions while building livelihoods.

Jamaat-e-Islami Lower Chitral Emir Wajihuddin expressed his support for the project, describing it as aligned with Alkhidmat Foundation’s mission of community development and service. He assured attendees that further steps would be taken to expand the center’s activities and provide greater opportunities for Kalash women.

The establishment of the Women Vocational Center in Kalash Valley has been hailed as a milestone for the empowerment of women in one of Pakistan’s most remote and culturally unique areas.

Local organizers thanked Alkhidmat Foundation’s leadership for their commitment to enhancing the welfare of Kalash women and fostering sustainable development in the region.
