PESHAWAR/QUETTA – Security forces eliminated 10 terrorists, including a high-value target, during two separate intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed on Thursday that these operations struck heavy blows to militant networks. The raids targeted insurgent hideouts in Dera Ismail Khan and Kalat, recovering significant caches of arms and ammunition.
In the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan, security forces engaged a cell of “Khwarij” militants. The operation resulted in the death of a notorious ringleader named Dilawar.
Authorities had placed a PKR 4 million bounty on Dilawar’s head. He was wanted for numerous high-profile attacks against law enforcement agencies and civilians. His death marks a significant victory for the ongoing Security Forces Counter-Terrorism Operations in the region.

Major Strike Against Foreign-Backed Militancy in Kalat
A second operation took place in the Kalat district of Balochistan. Acting on credible intelligence, forces targeted a hideout belonging to “Fitna-al-Hindustan”—a term the state uses to describe groups allegedly acting as Indian proxies.
During an intense exchange of fire, eight foreign-sponsored terrorists were killed. The ISPR stated that these militants were actively involved in destabilizing the province. Clearance operations are currently ongoing to ensure no remnants of the cell remain in the area.

Rising Security Challenges in Pakistan
These successful Security Forces Counter-Terrorism Operations come amid a surge in regional violence. According to the 2025 Global Terrorism Index, Pakistan now ranks as the second most affected country by terrorism. Fatalities from attacks rose by 45% over the past year.
Recent data from the Center for Research and Security Studies confirms a sharp spike in violence during the third quarter of 2025. Despite these challenges, military officials maintain that operations will continue at full pace to eradicate foreign-sponsored militancy.
