PTI's protests to be no-confidence against 'hybrid\ govt: Qaiser

PESHAWAR – Former National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser announced that the upcoming Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) protest movement across Swabi will serve as a public “vote of no confidence” against the current federal government.

Speaking at a press conference in Swabi, Qaiser, accompanied by senior party leadership, stated that the demonstrations aim to challenge the “stolen mandate” and the policies of what he termed a “hybrid regime.”

The protest aims to oppose government policies and highlight what organizers describe as violations of democratic norms. It seeks to draw public attention to concerns about governance and constitutional practices.

A central focus of the protest is the demand for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and assurances of his fair treatment under the law. Participants frame this demand as essential to upholding democratic principles and the rule of law.

The protest is led by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, who has emerged as the key figure associated with the movement in the current political context.

  2. Reports of a recent medical check-up at PIMS Hospital for an eye condition have not been independently verified.
  3. The party “cannot rely” on government-issued statements regarding Khan’s wellbeing.
