PRCS distributes Ramazan relief packages in Tirah

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) distributed the Ramazan Relief Package in Tirah in collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent to support vulnerable families in Tirah District Khyber.

The three-day humanitarian initiative delivered essential food and hygiene assistance to 1,900 affected families, ensuring timely support for communities during the holy month of Ramazan.

Relief teams distributed flour, pulses, sugar, ghee, and other essential food items, along with hygiene kits, to meet immediate household needs. The Turkish Red Crescent fully supported the provision of food packages and hygiene supplies, enabling smooth and transparent distribution across the targeted areas.

The programme also established free medical camps in collaboration with the Norwegian Red Cross to address urgent health concerns. Medical teams provided free consultations and medicines to patients, ensuring prompt care for families facing health challenges.

A simple yet dignified ceremony in Achini, Peshawar, marked the distribution and brought together Secretary General PRCS Mr. Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, Chairman PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir, Provincial Secretary Mr. Abid ur Rehman Marwat, Chairman Merged Districts Mr. Imran Wazir, Turkish Red Crescent Program Manager Mr. Serkan Aba, Mr. Ibrahim, and other officials.

In her message, Chairperson PRCS Mrs. Farzhana Naek reaffirmed that extending support to affected families during Ramadan remains a core responsibility of PRCS. She described the partnership with the Turkish Red Crescent as a strong example of humanitarian solidarity and commitment to serving communities in need.

Secretary General PRCS Mr. Muhammad Abaidullah Khan expressed sincere appreciation for the continued assistance to tribal communities and highlighted the enduring bond of brotherhood and mutual respect between the people of Türkiye and Pakistan. He added that PRCS has actively conducted relief activities in the area since February and plans to expand cooperation in the coming months.

Mr. Serkan Aba praised the arrangements made by PRCS and reiterated the Turkish Red Crescent’s commitment to standing with the people of Pakistan in times of need. Representatives of the Turkish Red Crescent reviewed the beneficiary registration process and personally participated in the distribution of relief items.

Chairman PRCS KP Branch Mr. Farzand Ali Wazir and Chairman Merged Districts Mr. Imran Wazir thanked the PRCS National Headquarters and the Turkish Red Crescent for their continued support and pledged to leave no stone unturned in assisting the needy people of the province.
