PESHAWAR – Official data paints a grim picture of the security landscape in the provincial capital, with Peshawar crime statistics 2025 revealing a significant spike in homicides, terrorism-related incidents, and street crimes.
Despite police efforts, the year was marked by a series of violent conflicts and a sharp rise in property crimes, leaving the citizenry demanding more effective law enforcement.

From a legal standpoint, the police were highly active in registration, though prevention remained a challenge. A total of 3,741 miscellaneous crime cases were filed. This includes:

- 598 cases under local and special laws.
Public Outcry for Safety
The year 2025 concludes with a “bittersweet” memory for many, but for the majority of Peshawar’s residents, the bitterness prevails due to the high crime rate. Citizens have expressed deep concern over the rising insecurity and are calling on the provincial government and police high command to initiate indiscriminate operations against criminal gangs and improve street patrolling.
As the city enters 2026, the primary challenge for the Peshawar Police remains the restoration of public trust through the reduction of street-level crimes and the curbing of organized violence.
