KP Personalized License Plate Auction Generates Millions as 'Wazir 1' Sells for 15M

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department hosted a grand KP Personalized License Plate Auction at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar. During the event, enthusiastic bidders spent record-breaking amounts to secure their favorite names and marks. Consequently, the provincial treasury received a massive revenue boost from this successful public initiative.

Record-Breaking Bids for Iconic Names

The bidding reached intense levels as participants competed for unique identity marks. Specifically, the “Wazir 1” plate secured the highest bid of 15 million rupees. Meanwhile, “Afridi 1” became the second most expensive plate, selling for 14.05 million rupees to Peshawar Zalmi owner Javed Afridi.

Furthermore, MPA Nek Muhammad Khan acquired the “Khan 1” plate for 11.1 million rupees. Other notable sales included:

  • Haripur 1: 8 million rupees.
  • Yousafzai 1: 4.9 million rupees.
  • Durrani 1: 1.66 million rupees.
  • Malakand 1: 1.25 million rupees.
  • Swabi 1: 1.2 million rupees.

Modernizing the Auction Process

Because of the overwhelming nationwide interest, the department decided to move future rounds online. This transition will allow fans from across the country to participate in the KP Personalized License Plate Auction via digital platforms. DG Excise confirmed that this initiative aims to provide citizens with their desired identity marks while increasing government revenue.

Additionally, the provincial minister, Syed Fakhr Jahan, congratulated the successful bidders. He noted that the project aligns with the vision of Chairman Imran Khan and the leadership of CM Muhammad Sohail Afridi. Therefore, the department will continue to introduce modern reforms to facilitate the public.

How to Apply for Future Plates

Interested individuals can now request specific names or marks for the next phase. For instance, citizens can apply through the “Dastak App” or submit a direct application to the Director-General of Excise. Moreover, the next stage will feature the names of famous personalities and celebrities to attract even higher interest.

In conclusion, this auction marks a shift toward transparency and modern governance in the province. The department expects even higher participation in the upcoming online sessions as more regional and tribal names become available.
