NAB freezes assets of senior auditor
In a parallel development, NAB has filed a petition with the accountability court to freeze the assets of Raziullah, a senior auditor with the Accountant General’s office, also implicated in the Kohistan corruption Scandal. Sources revealed that Raziullah purchased properties worth millions of rupees in the names of his wife and close relatives, including two individuals named Muzammil and Farhad.
The frozen assets include a 5-marla house in Hayatabad registered under his wife’s name, a 23-marla property in Warsak Road’s Abshar Colony under Muzammil, and a 13-marla house in Hayatabad under Farhad. Following all legal procedures, NAB’s Director General confirmed the assets have been frozen. The accountability court has scheduled a hearing on 15 September to formalize the freeze and verify the details.
These developments highlight NAB’s ongoing efforts to recover public funds and enforce accountability in the Kohistan corruption case, as the bureau continues to track the financial holdings of all individuals involved. The plea bargain by Riaz may set the stage for expedited resolution and demonstrate the bureau’s commitment to transparency and legal oversight.
