PESHAWAR – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tourism continues to thrive as one of Pakistan’s top attractions, drawing in 10,988,517 visitors during the first nine months of the year, according to the latest data released by the provincial tourism department.

Among these visitors, 6,866 were foreign tourists, highlighting the global appeal of the province. Swat, Naran Kaghan, Malam Jabba, and Chitral emerged as the most popular destinations, showcasing the province’s potential as a leading hub for adventure and cultural tourism.

Swat Valley led the way with 9,077,550 tourists, including 178 foreigners, enchanted by its picturesque valleys and lush green landscapes. Naran Kaghan followed closely with 4,336,216 visitors, while Malam Jabba, known for its ski resort, saw 3,442,975 visitors, including 2,363 foreigners—further boosting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tourism.

Chitral also attracted a significant number of tourists, with 2,075,362 people visiting the area, including 372 foreign tourists exploring Upper Dir, and 349,371 visiting Lower Chitral. Popular spots such as Bahrain and Kalam attracted 299,000 and 298,000 visitors, respectively, adding to the vibrant tourism landscape.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa tourism department gathers data through various tourist checkpoints, levy posts, and tourism police to monitor and support the growing influx of visitors. This data aids in future tourism planning to further strengthen the province’s status as a premier tourist destination in Pakistan.
