The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, recently presided over critical meetings, unveiling initiatives aimed at empowering the youth through the Ehsaas program and enhancing the police force.
The Ehsaas program, focused on youth welfare and financial independence, includes various schemes to provide employment, business support, and housing for young people across the province.In a separate briefing, Chief Minister Gandapur reviewed the progress of the Ehsaas program’s youth-focused initiatives.
Through the “Ehsaas Youth Employment Scheme,” young individuals will gain access to loans of up to PKR 10 million, with priority given to clusters of three to five skilled individuals aiming to start ventures. Additionally, the “Ehsaas Skills Program” will provide interest-free loans of up to PKR 500,000, specifically designed to assist graduates and diploma holders from technical institutions in launching their own businesses.
By equipping young individuals with the resources and funding they need, the Ehsaas program aims to foster an environment of entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency across the province.The Ehsaas program also includes the “Ehsaas Own House Program,” offering interest-free loans to low-income individuals for home construction, renovation, or expansion, thus supporting the housing needs of underprivileged families.
Furthermore, the “Ehsaas Employment (Microfinance) Scheme” will extend financial assistance to individuals interested in starting or expanding their businesses, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to sustainable growth and economic empowerment.In a concurrent meeting focused on strengthening law enforcement, the Chief Minister addressed recruitment for the police force, including the creation of 1,356 new positions specifically in the province’s southern districts.
With 1,200 constables nearing completion of their recruitment process, appointment letters are expected to be issued soon. Additionally, recruitment for sub-inspectors, assistant sub-inspectors, and head constables is underway, aiming to further bolster the region’s security and public safety.
The Chief Minister emphasized that both the Ehsaas program and the police recruitment efforts are vital for the province’s development, setting a December 1, 2024, deadline for implementation of these transformative initiatives.
