Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Launches Multi-Pronged Climate Change Initiative

Peshawar – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has unveiled a plan to integrate climate change studies into the educational curriculum, plant trees, and manage hospital waste.

At a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, the Elementary and Secondary education department was directed to incorporate climate change studies into the curriculum within 30 days.

During the meeting, colleges and schools to plant trees and educate students about their importance. The environmental department will arrange tree planting within seven days of each season.

The health department and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will develop a joint strategy for hospital waste disposal within 15 days.During the meetin, it was decided to establish a Climate Center in the province. The climate change department will submit a report outlining its strategy within 45 days.

The initiatives undertaken by the government include integrating climate change studies into the educational curriculum, planting trees in colleges and schools, developing a joint strategy for hospital waste disposal, and establishing a Climate Center.

“The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will address climate change and promote sustainability. These initiatives will educate future generations, promote practices, and ensure a healthy environment,” said a provincial government spokesperson.
