PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Wednesday said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) budget reflects “Imran Khan’s vision” of a peaceful and stable province. He added that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is presenting a fully tax-free budget focused on welfare and development.

According to Gandapur, the KP budget 2025–26, prepared under Imran Khan’s special directives, prioritises public welfare initiatives. The government has allocated funds to key sectors such as industry, health, education, tourism, and digitalisation. These measures aim to support socio-economic uplift across the province.
Moreover, the government has set aside funds for the Peshawar to Dera Ismail Khan Motorway project. Gandapur said the project is vital for regional connectivity and economic growth.

He also highlighted major development plans. For instance, the Aap Lift Canals project, which forms part of the KP budget, will be a game changer for the country. This project will irrigate 700,000 acres of barren land, converting arid zones into fertile farmland.
Additionally, Gandapur confirmed that the government has earmarked funds for both small and large dam projects. These efforts will boost water storage and support sustainable agriculture.
He further stated that a new transmission line is under construction. Once completed, it will help industries get electricity at half the current cost. This move will improve industrial competitiveness.

To support livelihoods, the government will provide interest-free loans to the public. Gandapur said this step will enable people to star their own businesses and generate employment.
Meanwhile, the province will see a major education reform. The government plans to declare an educational emergency to improve public schooling through new policies and infrastructure upgrades.
In conclusion, Gandapur said the KP budget mirrors PTI’s vision for a self-reliant and prosperous province. He emphasized that the focus remains on empowering people and laying strong foundations for long-term development.
