PESHAWAR – Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, Justice Justice Rozi Khan Barrech, on Monday took suo motu notice of the brutal murder of couple in Balochistan. A disturbing video of the killing went viral on social media, sparking nationwide outrage.
The incident happened in the Sanjidi-Degari area near Quetta. Armed men killed a man and woman in cold blood, claiming to defend so-called honour. Police launched an investigation under the Anti-Terrorism Act and murder laws. They have arrested 13 suspects so far.

Authorities identified two men from the video, including the shooter. Police also arrested tribal elder Sher Baz. They continue efforts to trace and arrest more suspects involved in the murder of couple in Balochistan.
The Chief Justice ordered the Inspector General of Police and the Home Secretary to submit a detailed report by July 23.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti confirmed the operation against the accused is underway. He promised justice and said the state stands with the victims. Government spokesperson Shahid Rind said the murder likely took place around Eid-ul-Adha. However, no one from the victims’ families reported it, and authorities could not recover the bodies.

Officials have sent data from the video to the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for identification.
Religious scholars strongly condemned the killings. They called the murder of couple in Balochistan a brutal act of ignorance. Rights activists and civil society groups urged state institutions to ensure swift and strong punishment for the killers.
