Budget 2025-26 To Be Presented in National Assembly Today

PESHAWAR The federal government will present Budget 2025-26 in the National Assembly today, Tuesday, 10 June. Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will deliver the budget speech during the session, which begins at 5pm.

The National Assembly Secretariat has issued a four-point agenda for the day. The session will start with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat and the national anthem. The finance minister will then present the annual budget statement for Budget 2025-26.

Lawmakers will also see demands for grants, appropriations, and supplementary approvals from the past three years. The finance minister will table the Finance Bill, which proposes fiscal measures and legal amendments for the new financial year.

On Monday, the finance minister shared the Pakistan Economic Survey. He described the country’s financial situation as a “battlefield” and said debt repayments remain the largest government expense.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq approved the parliamentary budget schedule. The National Assembly will not meet on 11 and 12 June. On 13 June, lawmakers will begin debating Budget 2025-26. Parliamentary parties will receive time according to rules.

The debate will end on 21 June. The Assembly will not hold a session on 22 June. On 23 June, members will discuss charged expenditures. On 24 and 25 June, they will debate and vote on cut motions, demands, and grants. Lawmakers will pass the Finance Bill on 26 June. On 27 June, the Assembly will handle supplementary grants and other related matters.

Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced it will present its provincial budget on 13 June.
